Support 2022 - What's Coming Up!

Support 2022

2021, despite all the uncertainty surrounding the pandemic, was a great first year for our support services.

We expanded our virtual 'Tea & A Chat' sessions and even managed an in-person meet up in Newcastle in November.

We held our first-ever virtual 'Wellbeing Week' bringing SBC patients and various experts in the cancer community together for a week of information and practical sessions.  We learned a lot from it and hope you guys did too.

We also held our inaugural retreats over the summer to great success.  The patient feedback from these has been outstanding and incredibly rewarding.  We are delighted to witness those friendships made at the retreats flourishing which is exactly what we hoped for.

2022 will be another exciting year for patient support.

As well as continuing our virtual programme, we will be bringing 'Tea & A Chat' meet ups around the UK.  We can't wait for patients who've made online connections to have the chance to meet in person and strengthen those existing friendships.  Watch this space!

We've also been working with a passionate group of secondary breast cancer patients in Northern Ireland and are excited to be funding a regular monthly 'Tea & A Chat' support group in Belfast which will start at the end of January.  We'll be announcing more on this early in the new year.

Our first support services project - '2nds Together Support Hub' - will be improved with some new features to help make it more user friendly.

Have we missed a resource in your area?  If so, let us know by emailing support@make2ndscount.co.uk

Our virtual 'Wellbeing Week' returns in February with a smaller, more intimate feel, and will be focussing on the subjects of Menopause, Sex & Exercise and the effects living with a secondary breast cancer diagnosis has on us.

We continue our existing partnerships with littlelifts and The Little C Club and hope to bring more support resources to patients and their families in 2022.

The Karen Henderson Legacy Fund will be supporting a few of our projects in 2022.

 More on this in January!

Most exciting of all, our '2nds Together Retreat' programme is back with more venues around the UK.  Cornwall, Liverpool & Glasgow to be exact.

We will be re-visiting our waiting list and opening up new registrations for each of these.

Find out more in 2022!

Thank you to everyone who has helped us this year with our support services, and we look forward to supporting you all again in 2022!
