My SBC Journey: Louisa

13th December 2020 SBC & Me

Louisa v2

When were you diagnosed with SBC?

I was diagnosed with SBC in April 2017 with multiple mets to the liver.

How were you diagnosed with SBC?

In March I went to the GP (probably should have gone sooner) about a lump in my right breast. It had been there for a while and I thought it was down to my monthly cycle. I was quickly referred for a biopsy and confirmed that it was cancer within 2 weeks. All the scans after happened quickly and showed mets to the liver.

What has been your treatment Journey?

I had 6 cycles of EC chemo in the summer of 2017, followed by Palbociclib, letrozole and monthly Zoladex which I am still on today.

What would have helped make your journey so far easier?

Being closer to friends and family may have made the journey so far easier.

What advice would you give someone who has just received their diagnosis?

Be super kind and gentle with yourself like never before. Take one appointment at a time, one day at a time.

What is your favourite holiday destination?

Oh that’s a tough one. I love the Caribbean, I love the sea!
