1 INTRODUCTION

Make 2nds Count respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy will inform you about how we look after your personal data, your privacy rights, and how the law protects you when you:

  • visit our website (regardless of where you visit it from);
  • make a donation to us (regardless of the form in which this donation is made);
  • take part in any activity or event for our benefit;
  1. organise a fundraising activity or event for our benefit;
  2. attend an event organised by us;
  3. attend an event organised by a third party for our benefit; or
  4. purchase tickets from us in relation to any such events.
  • sign-up for any of the activties, services or campaigns we offer to support the secondary (metastatic) breast cancer comunity.

2 IMPORTANT INFORMATION AND WHO WE ARE

2.1 Purpose of this privacy notice

This privacy notice aims to give you information on how Make 2nds Count collects and processes your personal data through your use of this website, including any data you may provide through this website; when you make a donation to us; take part or organise a fundraising activity; attend an event either organised by us or by a third party; or purchase tickets in relation to any such event;sign-up for any of the activties, services or campaigns we offer to support the secondary (metastatic) breast cancer comunity. It is important that you read this privacy policy together with any other privacy policy or fair processing notice we may provide on specific occasions when we are collecting or processing personal data about you so that you are fully aware of how and why we are using your data. This privacy notice supplements the other notices and is not intended to override them.

2.2 Controller

MAKE 2NDS COUNT which is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation, has its registered office at Gyleworks, 34 South Gyle Crescent, Edinburgh, EH12 9EB with Registered Charity Number SC048268 is the controller and responsible for your personal data (referred to as the "Make 2nds Count", "we", "us" or "our" in this privacy notice).

 

3 INFORMATION THAT WE COLLECT FROM YOU

3.1 What is personal data?

Personal data, or personal information, means any information about an individual from which that person can be identified. It does not include data from which an individual can no longer be identified (anonymous data).

We may collect, use, store and transfer different kinds of personal data about you which we have grouped together follows:

  • Identity Data: includes first name, maiden name, last name, username or similar identifier, marital status, title, date of birth and gender;
  • Contact Data: includes billing address, delivery address, email address and telephone numbers;
  • Financial Data: includes bank account and payment card detail (if provided when making a donation);
  • Donation Data: includes details about donations made by you and other details of products, tickets and services you have purchased from us;
  • Technical Data: includes internet protocol (IP) address, your login data, browser type and version, time zone setting and location, browser plug-in types and versions, operating system and platform and other technology on the devices you use to access this website;
  • Competition Entry Data: includes your name, address and email address and any other information you provide when entering a competition;
  • Usage Data: includes information about how you use our website, products and services and your attendance at events;
  • Equal Opportunity Data: includes information on your gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, age, religion, and any disability that you may have; and
  • Marketing and Communications Data: includes your preferences in receiving marketing from us and our third parties and your communication preference.

 

4 HOW IS YOUR PERSONAL DATA COLLECTED?

We use different methods to collect data from and about you including through:

  • Direct interactions: You may give us your Identity Data, Contact Data, Financial Data and Donation Data by filling in forms or by corresponding with us by post, phone, email or otherwise. This includes personal data you provide when you:

- make a donation to us, either through our website or through a third party donation website;

- purchase merchandise on our website, or any other products or services which we offer;

- fill in any forms on our website;

- subscribe to our service or publications;

- request marketing to be sent to you;

- submit a nomination or vote in respect of any awards;

- Identity, Contact, Financial, Donation and Marketing and Communications Data from any third party donation or purchasing site (eg JustGiving, Virgin Giving, BTDonate or PayPal).

- Technical Data from analytics providers; advertising networks; and search information providers.

- Contact, Financial and Transaction Data from providers of technical, payment, ticketing and delivery services.

 

5 HOW WE USE YOUR PERSONAL DATA

5.1 What processing grounds do we rely on?

  • Where we need to comply with a legal or regulatory obligation (for example, equal opportunities monitoring).

Generally we do not rely on consent as a legal basis for processing your personal data other than in relation to sending direct marketing communications to you via email. You have the right to withdraw consent to marketing at any time by contacting us.

9.1 Marketing by us

We may use your Identity, Contact, Financial, Donation and Marketing and Communications Data to form a view on what we think you may want or need, or what may be of interest to you. This is how we decide which products, services and offers may be relevant for you (we call this marketing). You will receive marketing communications from us if you have given us your express consent to receive marketing communications. Where you have given us your express consent, we will send marketing communications to you on behalf of our third party sponsors and partners.

9.2 Third party marketing

We are committed to providing you with information on products and offers which are relevant to you. If you have consented to receiving marketing we will therefore use your email address to promote our adverts to you on Facebook, Google and/or other social media channels. These adverts may appear on your Facebook newsfeed if you have a Facebook account linked to an email address that has been provided to us. If you no longer wish to receive the advertisements detailed above you can unsubscribe at any time by contacting us at hello@make2ndscount.co.uk Please note, you may receive adverts from us which are not connected to having provided us with your email address. An example of this may be when Facebook uses the information provided by users in accordance with its privacy and cookies policies to advertise. We cannot accept responsibility for any such advertisements.

9.3 Opting out

You can ask us or third parties to stop sending you marketing messages at any time by following the opt-out links on any marketing message sent to you or by contacting us at any time. Where you opt out of receiving these marketing messages, you may still receive messages from us for nonmarketing purpose, for example, service messages providing important announcements regarding a match which you have purchased tickets for.

 

10 THIRD PARTY WEBSITES

Because we want your experience of our site to be as informative and useful as possible, we may provide links to websites operated by third parties (“Third Party Websites”). Please be aware that we do not control such Third Party Websites and that such Third Party Websites may send their own cookies to users, or otherwise collect data or solicit personal information. Once we have received your information, we will use strict procedures and security features to restrict unauthorised access. All credit/debit card data taken through our website is encrypted in accordance with industry standards, including PCI-DSS.
